Comm is an online marketing guru and in this second edition (cleverly 2.0) he further expands on the way businesses can leverage social media (specifically twitter) to engage with consumers in a variety of way.
He talks of businesses incorporating twitter into their marketing strategy and employing people specifically to respond to customers via twitter (complaints, concerns, compliments).
He posits a number of simple (twitter) rules that companies should follow to drive direct sales:
Don't do it too often
Make the special offers special
Keep the offers targeted
Create entertaining tweets
Don't tweet the hard sell
I read this book cos I thought I might pick up some hints and tips for the library twitter account - it's a bit more business oriented than I needed but still an interesting read and I did pick up a few tips.
